Who is responsible
C&J Brands Limited (company number 16494343), trading as Benchmere, is the controller of personal data described here. Contact us at hello@benchmere.co.uk about anything in this notice.
What we collect from you
Postcodes you search: used to show results. We do not link searches to you.
When you contact us or request access: your name, email, and any details you send, used to reply and provide the service.
When you buy: your email, the property address or postcode for the report, and order records. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card details.
The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
Lawful basis and retention
We use your data to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations such as keeping accounting records (six years), and for our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries and improving the service. Enquiries that do not lead to a purchase are deleted after 24 months.
Tribunal decision data
Published tribunal decisions can contain the names of tenants and landlords. Benchmere removes names, house and flat numbers before showing any record, and shows only the street name and postcode district. The original decisions remain published by the tribunal on GOV.UK.
If you believe a record shows information about you that it should not, email us and we will review and, where appropriate, remove it promptly.
Who we share data with
Only the providers we need to run the service: website hosting, email, and payment processing. They act on our instructions. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, for corrections, for deletion, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@benchmere.co.uk. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
